Hundreds honor King at Atlanta church - Obama fights back against Bill Clinton - Food poisoning can be long-term problem - McCain poaches in Giuliani Country - More problems with voting machines?

Hundreds honor King at Atlanta church
Hundreds of civil rights leaders and others crowded Martin Luther King Jr.'s Ebenezer Baptist Church on Monday to celebrate the man and his legacy.
"We would be remiss if we did not commemorate Martin Luther King Jr., a champion of peace in a time of war," said Isaac Newton Farris Jr., a nephew of King.

Obama fights back against Bill Clinton
Presidential candidate Barack Obama accused former President Bill Clinton of distorting his words as the Democratic race in South Carolina heated up on Monday.
Meanwhile, Republican presidential hopefuls kept their focus on economics as they began campaigning for the Jan. 29 primary in Florida.
Obama, who was edged out by the ex-president's wife Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Saturday caucuses in Nevada, had harsh words for Bill Clinton, who is beloved in many Democratic circles — including among many blacks, who could be key to a win in South Carolina's weekend primary.

Food poisoning can be long-term problem
It's a dirty little secret of food poisoning: E. coli and certain other foodborne illnesses can sometimes trigger serious health problems months or years after patients survived that initial bout.
Scientists only now are unraveling a legacy that has largely gone unnoticed.

McCain poaches in Giuliani Country
While Rudy Giuliani is focusing all of his energies on Florida's GOP primary, his rival Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) is campaigning in the former New York City mayor's backyard.
McCain's campaign, riding a win in the South Carolina primary Saturday, announced that the senator would hold a press conference in New York City on Tuesday. Two recent polls have shown that McCain has overtaken Giuliani in the Empire State, where voters will go to the polls on Feb. 5.

More problems with voting machines?
Another update on the Horry County mess from the Sun News this morning:
More than a day after the polls closed, Horry County still could not release full results in a Republican presidential primary plagued by county and state election commission mistakes.
Officials vowed Sunday to ensure that the problems that marred the Republican primary would not be an issue for the Democratic presidential primary, slated for Saturday.
