Violent crime on the decline, FBI shows
Crime dipped slightly for the first half of 2007, the FBI reported Monday, signaling a stop to a 2-year increase in violence nationwide.

6 missing snowmobilers alive in Colorado
Six snowmobilers missing in the mountains for 2 1/2 days while a howling blizzard swirled around them were rescued Monday — hungry and cold but unhurt — after taking shelter in a cozy cabin and calling 911 on a cell phone when the storm eased up.

9 killed in Utah charter bus crash
A chartered bus taking skiers home to Arizona ran off a curvy road and rolled down an embankment in a crash that split open the vehicle's roof and threw some passengers 100 yards. Nine were killed and about 20 others injured.

Eligible bachelor accused of rapes
Gary Zerola's dark, brooding looks and his work on behalf of foster children helped earn him a spot on People magazine's list of America's "Most Eligible Bachelors" and a tryout for the TV reality show "The Bachelor."

Boy, 12, accused of killing toddler
Prosecutors are reviewing whether a 12-year-old boy should be charged as an adult after police accused him of fatally beating his toddler cousin with a baseball bat for interrupting a cartoon show.
