Clinton may challenge Texas vote rules
Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign has raised the possibility of a challenge to Texas' primary and caucus rules just days before the contest, drawing a warning against legal action from the state's Democratic Party.
Top strategists for Democratic rival Barack Obama said Friday they supported the party's action, suggesting the Clinton campaign was trying to block the reporting of caucus results.
Aides to Clinton said earlier this week they were alarmed at the lack of clarity about many of the caucus rules and expressed their concerns on a conference call with Obama's staff and state party officials.

Obama says Clinton ad scares voters
Democrat Barack Obama accused rival Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday of trying to "play on people's fears to scare up votes" with a television ad showing sleeping children and asking who would be more qualified to answer a national security emergency call at 3 a.m. "The question is not about picking up the phone. The question is: What kind of judgment will you make when you answer?" Obama said as he campaigned in Texas ahead of crucial contests here and in Ohio on Tuesday. "We've had a red phone moment. It was the decision to invade Iraq. And Senator Clinton gave the wrong answer. George Bush gave the wrong answer.

Stocks decline amid economic worries
Stocks fell sharply Friday after a series of economic and earnings reports and a further rise in oil prices stoked concerns about the health of economy. The major stock indexes fell more than 1.5 percent, with the Dow Jones industrials giving up more than 200 points.
Investors grew unnerved by disappointing quarterly results from American International Group Inc. and Dell Inc. And an index of regional business activity that Wall Street regards as a precursor to a broader report due next week registered its weakest reading in more than six years. Adding to Wall Street's list of worries, oil prices continued to stir concern about inflation after topping $103 per barrel overnight for the first time.

NASA: Endeavour ready to fly March 11
NASA on Friday cleared space shuttle Endeavour for liftoff in less than two weeks on the longest space station visit ever. Endeavour is scheduled to blast off March 11 on a 16-day mission that could end up stretching by another day.
NASA's new shuttle program manager, John Shannon, said it will be a long and complicated flight packed with five spacewalks and major space station pieces from two countries: Japan and Canada.

Tens of thousands await pope's US visit
Lori Brown keeps the winning ticket voucher in her purse as a good luck charm, and tells practically everyone she runs into about it. "It's ridiculous," said Brown, a mother of two from Laurel, Md., recalling how excited she was when her raffle ticket won her a seat at the April Mass that Pope Benedict XVI will celebrate in Washington. "I'm just so out of my skin jumping for joy with this."
