Can Judi Giuliani Help Soften Rudy's Image?
Politics and Judi Giuliani have not always gone well together.
In recent months, as her husband's presidential campaign heated up, Giuliani was pilloried in the New York press as a social climber. A Vanity Fair profile accused her of demanding a separate seat on planes for her Louis Vuitton handbag. The former mayor's campaign started pulling her back from public events.
But as she proved yesterday during a women's fundraiser downtown, Judi Giuliani -- or "Mrs. G," as she called herself -- is most emphatically back.

Bill Clinton urges youth to support Hillary
The Comeback Kid was back in Manchester last night to urge young Democrats to fight for their party and support his wife's presidential bid. Former President Bill Clinton, the candidate once grilled on MTV about his choice of underwear, called on the younger generation to not only "rock the vote" but also get plugged in and make a difference in their community.
"I'm glad to be here with you because you have the most at stake in this election," Clinton said as he kicked off a convention of the National Young Democrats at the Radisson Hotel Manchester.

Death of ex-cop's wife called homicide
Amid the search for a former police officer's fourth wife, a renowned pathologist said Saturday he has examined a previous wife's exhumed remains and determined she was killed.
Former New York City chief medical examiner Dr. Michael Baden said he analyzed Kathleen Savio's remains at the request of her relatives, who disagree with an earlier ruling that her death was an accident. He concluded she died after a struggle, and her body was placed in the bathtub where she was found.

Courts stall inmate's desire to die
The first letter, neatly handwritten on lined paper, arrived at the federal courthouse in Dallas nearly a year and a half ago with a simple address: U.S. District Clerk's Office.
"I am a college graduate and have no delusions what will occur as an end result of these proceedings," death row inmate Michael Rodriguez wrote in the first of a series of notes to the courthouse.

Atty.: $3.4M La. DA deal awaits approval
A multi-million dollar discrimination judgment that threatens to bankrupt the Orleans Parish District Attorney's office may be a step closer to being paid, an attorney for the plaintiffs said Friday.
An agreement would mean that the remaining $3.4 million left in the judgment would be paid to the employees who won a discrimination case against the district attorney's office, plaintiffs' attorney Richard Leefe said.
