Princess Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Fayed were due to watch filming of the James Bond movie "Tomorrow Never Dies" the day after she was killed, the inquest into her death heard Thursday. The couple were to visit Pinewood Studios near London on September 1, 1997, the film's producer Barbara Broccoli said in a statement to the inquest. She said Fayed, whom she had known since childhood, had arranged the visit in a phone call from his luxury yacht while on a cruise with Diana in the Mediterranean.

A man with a rucksack has run into the path of an aircraft at Heathrow Airport - sparking a major security alert. He jumped the perimeter fence shortly after 2pm and was tackled by armed officers on the northern runway. There was a controlled explosion on the bag and early reports are that no explosives were found. "The use of the northern runway was temporarily suspended while police dealt with the incident," a BAA Heathrow spokesperson said.
Gang Held Over Cash Machine Raids
Some 13 alleged members of a criminal gang have been arrested over a £2.2m cash machine heist after police swooped in a dawn raid. The nine men and four women are believed to have taken part in an organised campaign in which dozens of ATMs were broken into using power tools over an 18-month period. The arrests were made in the early hours as 130 officers converged on addresses across east London. Most of the raids took place in Walthamstow. Those detained range in age from 22 to 48.

Alistair Darling has defended his 'boring' Budget, insisting it will build a "strong, sustainable future". Describing tackling global warming as "our greatest obligation to future generations", the Chancellor announced new targets to make all new non-domestic building zero-carbon by 2019.
