Liverpool's new stadium gets green light
Liverpool have been given the green light to build their redesigned 400 million pounds stadium.
The Premier League club want to leave their famous Anfield home and move to a venue at near-by Stanley Park by 2011.
Liverpool city council have rubber-stamped their application for a second time after the orginal plan was slightly altered and work is set to begin immediately.

Queen opens Channel Tunnel terminal
The Queen arrived at St Pancras station to declare the new Channel Tunnel rail terminal officially open.
She was not only opening St Pancras International in London, home to Eurostar's new terminal, but also launching the finally-completed £5.8 billion Channel Tunnel Rail Link.
Known as High Speed 1, the 68-mile link runs from St Pancras to the Channel Tunnel opening at Folkestone, Kent.

Schools, Houses, Terror Top Queen's Speech
In a speech aimed at meeting "the rising aspirations of the people of the United Kingdom", the Queen has unveiled the government's new legislative programme.
It was a Queen's Speech of few surprises. Bills were promised on education, housing, security and the fight against terrorism as well as the anticipated shake-up of the constitution.

Die and you're under arrest! Britain's most stupid laws
Queen Elizabeth II's speech in the parliament Tuesday may have been routine but at least nobody got bored to death. That would have been against the law.
Dying in parliament is an offence and is also by far the most absurd law in Britain, according to a survey of nearly 4,000 people by a television channel showing a legal drama series.

Tories say Brown can't deliver change
Prime Minister Gordon Brown's first full programme for government was greeted with withering criticism from Tory leader David Cameron.
Key planks of the legislative programme outlined in the Queen's Speech include measures to increase the school leaving age from 16 to 18, make more affordable housing available, and extend pre-charge detention for terror suspects from the current 28 days.
